Took the kayak out to a local flow. I'd made another half-dozen pool noodle jugs.
I baited the 12 noodles with cut bream and dropped them in the water. I caught six good cats on the first drop, then caught the other four on the second drop.
I had three over 5 lbs. The largest was 6lb-15oz. Filleted them all out when I got home.
I forgot to re-charge my fishing camera's battery, so I had to wait until I got home for this photo with my newer camera. I'm hoping to get some video soon of the pool noodles in action.

Nice mess o'fish you got there. Makes me want to head out. Too bad I have too many things to do this weekend.
A bad day fishing is better than any good day at work.

Id love to see the video the next time you do this. How long until the fish hooked up after you dropped the noodles?

The streams I've been fishing have some straight stretches that are fairly long. This allows me to drop the jugs and "shepherd" them downstream for quite a ways before I have to pick them up.
I've had fish on as quickly as one minute after the drop and as late as 30 minutes into the drop.
I'm hoping I can get some decent video.
